Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No. The quoter gathers six pieces of information: your gender, date of birth, self-described health status, tobacco use, the death benefit amount you want to compare, and the term length. Those six data points are sufficient for carriers to generate rate estimates. Your name, address and detailed health history are not requested unless you choose to proceed to the application stage.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
The numbers shown are quotes provided by each carrier for your stated health class. Your actual premium will be determined by the carrier after underwriting, which may keep, improve or adjust your classification. The quotes and prices displayed are for comparison purposes and are not a guarantee, offer or commitment of coverage.
What happens when I click Apply?
You provide your name, and we generate an application based on the specific quote you selected. The application then continues on the carrier's secure platform. You can save your progress and return later, and signing is done electronically. Susman Insurance Agency, our licensed California partner (License 0B75129), manages the application process.
Will I need a medical exam?
This depends on which carrier, the coverage amount you selected, and your individual circumstances. Many carriers now have expedited programs that can issue coverage right away for qualified applicants without requiring an exam. The quote details will show you whether each carrier needs an exam, might ask for one, or does not require one.
Is a longer term better?
The term you choose should match the period when your income would be hardest to replace: a home loan, dependents at home, business obligations. Longer terms have higher monthly costs but protect for more years and lock in your rate. The tool lets you run quotes for 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years so you can weigh the options.
Does this site sell my information?
No. The tool requires no contact information to display rates. We don't sell or share visitor information. Our first-party analytics respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control, but the site also uses a cookieless page-view beacon from our content delivery provider which does not respect such signals. Complete details are on the privacy page.
